T.O. STAR: Steelback in "liquidity crisis"

From the Toronto Star....

"Generic drug entrepreneur Barry Sherman has gained court protection for D'Angelo Brands and Steelback Breweries in efforts to save the two former high-flying beverage companies which together owe his family firm more than $120 million.
Justice Sarah Pepall quietly issued an order late last week for a stay of any proceedings by creditors against the two insolvent companies until Sherman's Wasanda Enterprises attempts to file a restructuring plan...."

"At D'Angelo Brands, Sherman also noted in the affidavit that media and sponsorship commitments did not reflect sales..."

Steelback is the title sponsor of the GP of Toronto Champ Car race.

Here's evidence #1 as to why this guy is going out of business:

why does he think he's a star? Like how often do people just go "who the f**k is this guy?"

Is Barry Sherman nuts? Who lends a guy like D'Angelo $121 million bucks?

cart had great sponsors like molson. champ car deals with bozos like frank. too bad cc owns the race. if it goes the race goes too.

I'd forgotten how embarassing that Cheetah ad, was. It could rank with the worst ads ever. Dragging Ben Johson out to do that is simply disgusting. Funny, just like Steelback products.

Does any of this really matter? The Molson Indy was a great race. CART was a great series. Thats all gone now. This is a bunch of Euro pay drivers who couldnt get an F1 ride plus one fat old Canadian who is way past his best before date. Who cares? I would rather spend my money on NCATS at Mosport or Atlantic at TR than watching Tracy punt Doornbos and Jani out of his way.
