NASCAR LOCAL RACING.com: NASCAR Canadian Tire Series website to go live April 1

NASCAR has a website called NASCAR Local Racing.

On its mainpage, it discusses NASCAR Mexico and NASCAR Canada. At the end of the piece on NASCAR Canada, it says the NASCAR Canada website "are planned to go live on [Sunday] April 1." That is pretty much in line with the existing 'place holder' NASCAR Canadian Tire Series' website, which says "Site under construction. Launch March 2007".

The NASCAR Local Racing site doesn't include the much-anticipated NCATS schedule, but it does say that it is "... targeting events in Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario and Quebec." Hopefully, the exclusion of Nova Scotia (Riverside Speedway) is an oversight as that track is running the NCATS logo on its website and clearly expects to be hosting a race in mid-September.

Here is the portion on NASCAR Canada (at www.nascarlocalracing.com):

NASCAR Canada – Officially titled the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series

"The series was officially announced September 2006, following the acquisition of certain assets of the CASCAR Super Series by NASCAR. The series will stage events nationally with a schedule of 12 races throughout Canada from May to October. Many former CASCAR drivers and teams are anticipated to compete in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series.

Like NASCAR Mexico, NASCAR Canada also has a broadcast deal with The Sports Network (TSN) – Canada's sports leader. TSN has a multi-year agreement for exclusive broadcast rights to the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series, and will televise all 12 one-hour broadcasts. Each broadcast will include race coverage, driver interviews and special features.

The new NASCAR Canadian Tire Series will bring together some of Canada’s best stock car drivers and teams, and NASCAR plans to build on Canada’s strong and rich motorsports heritage and position itself as one of the leading motorsports markets in the world.

The NASCAR Canadian Tire Series plans to stage races on both ovals and road courses, and as a companion event to other major in-market events, targeting events in Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario and Quebec.

Unlike providing basic information with respect to NASCAR Mexico, the NASCAR Canada website will provided in-depth news, driver stats, schedules and more – much like the coverage we offer for the other series covered on this NASCAR Local Racing.com.

Adding the new sites to our lineup is exciting, and we look forward to providing our viewers the best possible information regarding the series and, as always, in a timely manner. The sites are planned to go live April 1."

Adding TIMELY information for the viewer is one thing. How about the same consideration for the competitors. A schedule not out by April 1? Disgusting.
Looks like the same attitudes are continuing with the new owners, namely, total disregard for entrants, with the assumption that funds just drop out of thin air.
If you have an event and nobody shows, is it really a race?
No- I'm not an entrant, just a follower of the series.

All the teams know the schedule and are preparing for it as such.

Call the office and they will tell you the schedule!

Call the tracks and they will tell you when they are having a race!

NASCAR will announce the complete schedule and have their website up and running when they can and they will do it the right way.

This is the biggest thing to happen for motorsports in CANADA.

Anon....if you were a compettitor, you would be aware of the sched. We have a lot more to work with that we ever have had...ie TSN, CTC, a sched has been on lapcevichracing .com for weeks. I believe it is pretty accurate.

Hi there, Mr. Sponsor.
Just wondering if you could put some money into my race operation.
How many races, and when? Is your deal done in Montreal?
Hold on, let me ask Jim Lapcevich.
Why is the east coast track saying they have a race?
Ummm,,,, I dunno!. Can I still have your money?

It is going to be hard getting sponserships and race cars ready in such short notice.. but I am sure everything will pull though. It is hard.. but these guys and girls but there heart and soul into everything. Im sure once it gets running and once they get into gear it will be a great series. Right now everyone is angry because they have been so slow at releasing everything. But teams have known the schedule for quite sometime now. Even though it has not been "offically" released yet. Im sure after the first season of NCTS it will come a lot easier.

I stand by my coment that it is the most we have ever had to work with. Not good for attracting new sponsors yet...cascar never was, but great to work with existing. I would not advise addressing a potential as " Mr Sponsor"..but you seem to be much more schooled on this than me....but if u want to have them call me....lol

Nascar-Cascar:Same product on the track, just a different name.No big deal here.In fact the product might be even less if car count doesn't rise. With Nascar on thetickets will we,well you,be paying more to see the same old teams race?Remember when Delaware went Nascar for one year, their addmission prices for teams went way up i believe.I'll watch and see how many cars they get and if they get 30 plus, then i might go.

First it was March, now it's April 1.Just who are the fools? The ones who care-LOL

I just dont get it? We have waited so may years for this to happen, and its just bi**h, bi**c. Maybe thats why NASCAR has never tried this before? With 5.4 million NASCAR viewers in Canada, they see great potential here. Mexico was a no brainer for them. More cash down there than you can shake a burrito at. But Canada is a tough sell for any race series. CASCAR, OSSCAR et al have been the staples, despite numerous set backs. Many of our tracks are floudering because advertising dollars are hard to come buy up here. With the advent of this new/old series, perhaps the dollar community will take a good hard look and see how excitng and lucrative it might be. This being said, I await the new racing season with much anticipation and a renewed sense of excitment.

Uhhh....I take it NASCAR North doesn't ring a bell at all? I can see people complaining due to the mickey-mouse organization of the NCTS. When you're this late into the off-season and still tweaking rules and can't get an official schedule finished, what kind of message does that send to sponsors and to potential teams, ESPECIALLY when you have THREE different series with nearly identical products to NCTS getting off the ground and keeping their drivers/teams in the loop in much, much less time?

When the site failed to launch on April 1, I rechecked at nascarlocalracing.com and find that the release now reads April 4. No explanation or apology, no new release - just a change of date on the original release!

I say Thursday April 5th, 2007.

What a joke the Nascar Canadian Tire Series is!Never can find any news or results,oh well who cares!Further the cars in this series are dogs and any good Sportsman Series could compete . Why don't they make the Series follow Nationwide rules in canada,so at least the CTC Series cars could if they dared enter some races in the Nationwide Series.
After seeing these race car driver "want-to-bes" and their cars close up and in person I wouldn't walk across the street to watch them.
