SPEEDTV.COM has this column, by Robin Miller.
"The silence from the Champ Car office in Indianapolis isn't just deafening, it's in surround sound.
Six weeks before its season opener in Las Vegas, the series supposedly in its year of momentum is awash in questions, rumors and a serious lack of urgency, information, organization and cars.
Forget the fact only eight drivers have been confirmed for 2007, because there are more serious concerns that nobody wants to discuss...."

I have been a fan of the CART/Champ Car since it split from USAC in 1978. I think this is a fair and reasoned assessment of the current state of the series. Miller has backed it since the split. As a Hoosier, he has taken a lot of abuse for it, but he stood his ground. He was an employee of the series. He may still be. Not for long, I guess. His most recent column was posted on the Champ Car website on Feb. 20. If Robin Miller thinks the series is flatlining, that really tells you something...
Who needs Andrew Ranger when we can watch superstars like Neel Jani and Clivio Piccione? Yawn. What's in it for Canadian fans? Another year seeing Paul Tracy crash into faster drivers and make a fool of himself?
Too bad that the die hard ChampCar
fans refuse to acknowledge the fact that there is serious trouble within the series.
I just wonder if Miller's article was written after his dismissal or before it, resulting in his firing.
Either way, I applaud him for putting words to paper.
Any sound minded fan realizes that this was not a tirade but a long overdue, series, of justified questions for the ChampCar office.
As for the race venues/promoters, because there may be serious trouble ahead, especially in Canada, race attendence may suffer this year.
This is especially true if a Canadian TV deal isn't done. Has anyone heard even the slightest hint on whether any CDN TV network is interested in showing ChampCar?
----long pause--- I thought, not.
