The FIA's 2009 Formula One schedule shocked many when it was revealed that the Canadian Grand Prix would not take place next season. Do you care? Register your vote and comments on the poll located on the right side of this page.
p.s. - Several hours after the announcement that the race is no more, the GP du Canada's official website still says, "See you next year!" ... on the same page offering ticket information for the '09 event. What could it all mean?

It's still on the website because Bernie and the FIA didn't have the decency to tell the Montreal organisers about it.
I find that very hard to believe.
This stinks like the tobacco money replacement sting they pulled a few years back.
Bernie and Legault are partners. They just pretend to be adversaries when they're looking to shake money out of other peoples' pockets.
North America does really want F1.
They have there own cars and ther own entertainment.
They can keep it.
Toronto may be interested more.
You Know......... the Italians.
The website is up, but it doesn't seem possible to order tickets. Wonder if they've pulled the plug on that part of the site?
Either way, you knew it was coming, following the events this year and last, when the track started to break up. This was an embarassment to Bernie, Max and the circus.
Nothing more to see here, move along.

If cancelling the Canadian GP doesn't prove F1 is all about the money, I don't know what does. It stopped being about the fans and about the racing ages ago. What a travesty--replacing a fan favourite, driver favourite circuit like Montreal for yet another boring-ass ugly track in the middle of a desert. In Abu-Dhabi. Are you shitting me!?
All so Bernie can flaunt is boring-ass, no-passing excuse for "racing" in front of yet another group of rich oil barons, throwing money in the air and not giving a damn about anything REMOTELY resembling racing.
This season almost, ALMOST convinced me to start watching F1 again. No driver aids, a bit more competitiveness, Vettel, Hamilton... But not anymore. Formula 1 just lost a Canadian fan. Go to hell, Ecclestone.
F-1 in Abu Dabi on a boring faceless track, how generic.
Bring back CART with twin turbo high horsepower danger machines on Montreals' track.
Nascar is more entertaining thru the twisties than watching F-1 parade in the desert.Look what F-1 did at Indy with the tire screw up. Racing sucks nowadays. Maybe they should bring the WRC to the steets of North America and wake up the open wheel corparation.
