TW Steel Introduces Lotus Renault GP Collection

Amsterdam, The Netherlands (September 08, 2011) – In continuation of TW Steel's involvement as the 'Official Timing Partner' to Lotus Renault GP in the FIA Formula One World Championship, the international brand 'Big in Oversized Watches' utilized the historic setting of Monza and this weekend's Italian Grand Prix to showcase the 2011 TW Steel Lotus Renault GP Collection.

Building on the success of the previous range in support of the team, the new-look collection unveiled today in Italy before Lotus Renault GP drivers Vitaly Petrov and Bruno Senna, and senior team personnel, celebrates the rebranding of the team this season highlighted by the use of black and gold in reflection of Lotus Renault GP's striking and popular sporting livery.

Once again the collection offers two very different, but equally appealing, platforms for the consumer and F1 fan.

The TW677 (45mm) and TW678 (48mm) Pilot editions stand out with bold black dial and white numbering making them visually more distinctive while also mirroring the popular appeal of last year's successful RF1 Pilot watches.

These models are presented exclusively with a chronograph movement.  The watches also feature a sleek matt sandblasted PVD black-coated case while the second hand and chronograph details are resplendent in a gold accent.  The Lotus Renault GP logo is incorporated onto the case back.

The TW684 (44mm) and TW685 (48mm) CEO Tech editions provide a more luxurious offering in support of the partnership with Lotus Renault GP.  Building on the popularity of last season's RF1 CEO Tech editions, the black and gold incorporated into the design of the new models perfectly mirror the team's branding while providing a contemporary lifestyle timepiece for its owner.

The two models in the CEO Tech collection, featuring a chronograph movement accurate to 1/20th of a second, also sport AA-grade black PVD coated cases off-set by AA-grade gold plated accents – namely the crown, pushers, second hand and screws on the bezel.  Featuring real Sapphire crystal – a rarity for a watch with these case dimensions, the CEO Tech editions again showcase the Lotus Renault GP logo on the case back while the look is completed with a stylish black silicon strap.

"The brand colours of Lotus Renault GP for 2011 really worked well with our design platform," commented TW Steel Chief Design Officer, Ton Cobelens.  "Last year's Pilot and CEO Tech editions were extremely successful so we've evolved the concept to offer what I believe is a truly distinguished collection and the best representation of the partnership between TW Steel and Lotus Renault GP.  Once again we are offering high-end style and quality with an affordable price point."
