Cleveland – Bikers, bike builders and Lincoln Electric will roll into the 71st Annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, Aug. 8-14, in Sturgis, S.D. During the event, bike enthusiasts will have plenty to see at Lincoln Electric's on-site tent (Tent 11) in the Community Center Expo Lot on Lazelle Street. Highlights throughout the week will range from welding demos and discussions to meet-and-greet sessions with celebrity bike builders.

The Lincoln Electric team, which was invited to participate in the 2011 rally by FF Journal, won't arrive in Sturgis on custom-built motorcycles, but instead in the company's box truck, sporting the Lincoln Electric logo and red-and-black color scheme, delivering definite Sturgis style … and functionality. It promises to deliver welding fun and excitement for all visitors, from professional bike builders to backyard DIYers.
The truck, which opens up on all sides, allows Lincoln Electric to unveil its innovative Mobile Demonstration Unit (MDU), featuring Power MIG®, Precision TIG® and Tomahawk® units for various product demos offered all day long throughout the week. All demo equipment will be powered by Lincoln Electric's unique Air Vantage® 500 unit, housed in the MDU truck.
"This is Lincoln's first appearance at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. We are excited to participate in the most-talked-about bike event of the year and look forward to meeting bike enthusiasts from all walks of life," said Scott Skrjanc, Lincoln Electric's group leader of trade shows and events. "We have a lot of fun planned for the week, including custom bike-building demos by Wyatt Swaim, better known to the welding world as 'Mister TIG™'."
Visitors can exchange fabrication tips with Swaim, a Lincoln Electric consultant. He also will answer visitor's welding questions. Swaim earned his renowned "Mister TIG" moniker thanks to his extensive welding experience in the aerospace industry and as a member of the trackside welding team at the Indy 500.
After watching the demos, attendees can take part in ordering equipment and accessories, offered at special pricing that's only available at the 2011 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.
